The Urban and Environmental Policy Institute  has just gotten started on the 2010 Bike Summit. One big change is that we’re planning to make it both a bicycle and pedestrian event! We’ve just started work, so we  haven’t confirmed a date or location yet – but it’s likely to be similar to last year – around March 2010 in a central transit-accessible location like LA Trade Tech College. Here’s the event web page – same as last year – and it’s a wiki, so if register, you can contribute materials to the site.

We’re trying to get a couple of great inspirational out-of-town speakers, and we’ll be hosting plenty of local workshops. If you have ideas for speakers you’d like to hear and/or topics you’d like to learn about or present, please add your suggestions to the idea page for the 2010 L.A. Bike / Ped Summit.

EASTSIDE BIKE CLUB found it very informative and we will make plans to be there again this year.

Is there a tentative date yet?

    • Joe Linton Says:

There’s no tentative date yet – though we’re looking at March or April 2010. We’re working with a potential and a potential venue to what can work.

Is there a module on Community Bike Rides? I would like to participate in that session. I am the Founder of the Eastside Bike Club which host TWO bikes rides every week. 323/221.7400

    • Joe Linton Says:

No community bike rides workshop yet… but I am sure a lot of the folks there will be interested. Would you like to help pull together a community bike rides panel, maybe?

Also – we’re hoping to get some group rides to come to the Janette Sadik-Khan talk at Oxy on Thursday night March 18th. Do you think the Eastside Bike Club might want to help organize a ride to Eagle Rock-Occidental College on Thursday night?

  6. Carlos Morales Says:

    Joe,
    Sorry for the late communication.

I have been away from this email for a while, its just been pretty busy with the Newspaper and community news.

Anyway EASTSIDE BIKE CLUB members will be attending the BIKE SUMMIT this weekend. We are taking our Saturday Ride to the Summit.

And yes, if there are any panel discussions regarding Communnity Bike Rides I would love to participate.

    Please advise. 323/221.7400
